Sun & Sky Towers, Abu Dhabi

The Sun & Sky Towers form a key component of the Shams megaproject on Al Reem Island, contributing to the district’s emergence as a major mixed-use urban destination in Abu Dhabi. The development comprises two distinctive high-rise towers positioned above the Boutik Mall podium. Sun Tower is a 64-storey residential tower rising to approximately 247 metres, while Sky Tower is a 74-storey commercial tower reaching approximately 292 metres. Together, the towers offer premium living and workplace environments with direct access to retail, leisure, and community amenities. 

The architectural form of the towers is defined by their elliptical profiles, a design strategy that reduces wind resistance and softens the visual impact of their height within the surrounding skyline. The integrated podium accommodates dining, retail, fitness, recreation areas, and open terraces, creating a walkable and activated urban setting. 

ACC served as the main contractor for the full delivery of both towers and the connecting podium. Scope included substructure and superstructure construction, advanced post-tensioned slab systems, façade installation, architectural and interior finishing, complex mechanical and electrical services coordination, and vertical transportation. Construction required precise planning to manage simultaneous tower progression, core and floorplate sequencing, and large-scale workforce logistics. 

The completed award-winning development demonstrates ACC’s capability in delivering high-rise structures of significant architectural ambition, technical complexity, and urban integration as part of major masterplanned city expansions.
