Ruwais LNG Project – Offsite General Construction Works Package
The Ruwais LNG Project is a major component of ADNOC’s long-term downstream and LNG expansion strategy, located within the Ruwais Industrial Complex – one of the region’s largest integrated energy hubs. The project includes new LNG export facilities supported by extensive offsite infrastructure required to enable safe construction, installation, and long-term operation of the plant.
ACC was appointed to deliver the Offsite General Construction Works Package, providing essential enabling works outside the main LNG process areas. These works form the physical foundation for logistics, utilities, and access across the wider LNG development and must be delivered in alignment with the overall project schedule.
ACC Scope of Works
ACC’s scope comprised offsite civil, structural, and infrastructure works in support of the LNG facility, including:
- Bulk earthworks and site preparation
- Construction of internal roads, pavements, and hardstand areas
- Reinforced concrete foundations and structures
- Drainage systems and underground services
- Cable trenches, duct banks, and service corridors
- Foundations and supports for offsite pipe racks and utilities
- Interface works with adjacent EPC and construction packages
Project Delivery
The works were executed within a large, highly active industrial environment, alongside multiple EPC contractors and parallel work packages. ACC managed construction sequencing and access to ensure offsite works progressed in step with the overall LNG programme.
Delivery was carried out in accordance with ADNOC’s HSE, quality, and permit-to-work requirements. Particular focus was placed on safe execution, coordination with adjacent contractors, and maintaining clear interfaces between packages to avoid disruption to downstream activities.
ACC’s approach emphasised planning, control, and consistent site management to ensure the offsite infrastructure was delivered to the required standard and ready to support follow-on construction and installation works.
Project Outcome
The Offsite General Construction Works Package was completed in support of the wider Ruwais LNG development, enabling continued progress of the main LNG facilities and associated infrastructure.
This project demonstrates ACC’s capability to deliver large-scale enabling works on complex LNG developments, operating within strict client standards and multi-contractor environments where sequencing, interfaces, and delivery certainty are critical.
