UN ESCWA Building, Beirut

This prestigious office building located in the heart of the Beirut Central District is the home of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.

It consists of an office building of 16 storeys (7 basements and 9 floors above ground).

The most advanced systems were selected to ensure a comfortable work environment (BMS, advanced temperature control systems, fiber optic telecommunication lines, centralized security control). The structure consists of pre-stressed beams, solid slabs and post tensioned slabs.

The facade is made of unitized panels of mixed curtain wall with advanced laminating films allowing light transmissions but limiting the amount of solar heat transmitted into the building. Brazilian granite was used for the outside cladding.
