Koloma Administrative City Project in Conakry, Guinea
Non-Technical Summary (NTS) of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report
Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has been awarded a design and build contract for the development of the Administrative City of Koloma, a new government office complex in Conakry, Guinea (the Project), by the Société Nationale d’Aménagement et la Promotion Immobilière de Guinée (SONAPI). SONAPI is a vehicle of the Presidency of the Republic, under the financial supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Guinea, whose role it is to implement and monitor government policy on land development and the construction of social, economic and residential housing.
As part of ACC’s Environmental and Social reporting requirements, the following reports are now available for Public Disclosure:
- The Non-Technical Summary (NTS): The Non-Technical Summary (NTS) presents the key findings of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the Project. To download the report originally prepared in English, you can download here or alternatively, a translated French version can be downloaded here.
- The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report: This ESIA Report sets out the applicable requirements of the Lenders’ Standards for this type of Project, describes the Project and it’s components sufficient to undertake the assessment of impacts; defines the methodology and approach to be used in assessing impacts; identify the likely key environmental and social issues associated with the construction and operation phases of the Project; frame the scope for the baseline studies that support the ESIA; and identify potential Project impacts and proposes mitigation measures against the identified impacts. This report can be downloaded here and is only available in English.
- The Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP): This SEP outlines a cultural appropriate approach and key steps to be undertaken by the Project, to plan and manage stakeholder engagement activities throughout the Project lifecycle. It is a ‘live’ document, which will be periodically revised in course of the Project lifecycle, when required. This report can be downloaded here and is only available in English.
