Baynouna Solar Energy Project, Jordan

Arabian Construction Company (ACC) were awarded the first Solar Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract to build the Baynouna Solar Energy Project, 40 km northeast the capital Amman, Jordan, in Joint Venture with Enviromena Power Systems LLC.

The 200MW Project (photovoltaic power station) is now proudly the largest single solar energy project completed in Jordan.

The project generates 563.3 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity each year and covers the annual supply needs of approximately 160,000 homes while saving upwards of 360,000 CO2 each year.

Liwa Strategic Water Storage and Recovery System, Abu Dhabi

The Strategic Water Storage Recovery Project in Liwa, Abu Dhabi was one of the largest projects of its kind in the world.

The objective of the project is to infiltrate and store 27 million cubic metres of desalinated water in natural underground aquifers to form a strategic reserve that can be recovered and used in emergency conditions.

ACC’s role in the project included design, supply, construction and commissioning of 200 water wells, 160 km of interconnecting piping and transfer pipeline (48″ and 36″ diameter), five pumping stations, MV and LV substations, 500 km of electrical and instrumentation cables with DCS and SCADA control systems.

Fujairah F1 Reverse Osmosis Plant Extension, Fujairah

ACC delivered the civil and structural works on the Reverse Osmosis Plant Extension Project in Fujairah, UAE.

The Project comprises the detailed design, procurement and construction of Civil & Structural works of Reverse Osmosis Extension Plant facilities on unused land that forms part of the existing F1 Plant. The scope also included ACC laying the GRP pipeline network including steel supports installation.

Installation of NGL Pipeline Pumps at Asab-0, Abu Dhabi

The NGL Pipeline Pumps & Allied Works project at Asab-0 involved installation of NGL pumps with associated civil, piping, electrical, instrumentation, telecom and tie-ins works. It also included testing, pre-commissioning and assistance to the company for commissioning and the start-up of new facilities.

The purpose of the project was to replace existing NGL pipeline pumps with new ones of bigger capacity to cater for increased production and to carry out de-bottlenecking of the existing plant to facilitate the operation of the new pumps.

ACC’s scope included construction of pump sheds to accommodate new NGL pumps and VSD motors; a new substation building with 11kV and LV power system for operation and control of the new facilities; piping fabrication installation and testing; modification of existing electrical panels and DCS system; executing tie-in works under a major shutdown to integrate the new facilities with the existing plant; removing the old pumps and demolishing existing facilities after successful operation of new installations.

SIBCO Megaplant Project, Jeddah

ACC’s extensive industrial experience has been augmented by its role on the SIBCO Mega Plant in Jeddah, which is billed as one of the largest bottling plants in the world, with an overall area of 138,000 m².

ACC’s work covered the main factory building and all support structures including the civil and MEP components.

Central Environmental Protection Facility Beaat 2, Abu Dhabi

The purpose of the Beaat 2 facility is to safely retrieve, manage, treat and dispose of hazardous waste at the Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi Emirate, and ensure that human health and the environment are adequately protected.

ACC’s scope of work for this project included site preparation, design, construction and supply of civil, structural and architectural works.

It also involved supply, installation and testing of piping systems, assembly and installation of mechanical equipment, supply and installation of tank works & equipment and piping insulation.

Al Mirfa Desalination Plant, Abu Dhabi

The 23 MIGD Mirfa desalination plant serves the southern areas of the Abu Dhabi region.

It is comprised of three MSF distillers, each with a capacity of 7.5MIGD. The steam is provided by two boilers. ACC’s scope of works of the project also included a 650 m cable tunnel, a 2.5 km long x 2.8 m diameter discharge pipe, 65 m diameter steel tanks, a seawater intake structure and an outfall structure.

Falcon 77 and Falcon 78

ACC has completed the construction of several challenging projects for Qatar’s Armed Forces, including the construction of projects Falcon 77 and Falcon 78. This comprised 30 ammunition shelters, a workshop area and living quarters conforming to NATO specifications.

Work included explosion proof and fireproof electromechanical installations in a heavy-duty rock armour structure. The buildings are surrounded with 20-metre-high blast proof walls. The setup also includes a central control and firefighting system. 64,000 m² of roads were also part of the project.

Fujairah F2 Independent Water and Power Plant

The Fujairah F2 Plant is a Greenfield power generation and seawater desalination plant with 2,000 MW of net power capacity and 130 MIGD of net water capacity.

It is located at Al-Qidfa in the Emirate of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman.

The project is comprised of 5 gas turbines and 3 steam turbines (2000 MW) with all the necessary facilities (transformers, boilers, gas compressor, control building, stores, fuel unloading station, steel structures etc), 4 fuel tanks, outfall water intake, shore protection of 1km with all the marine works and soil filling.

Middle East Airbase

ACC was part of a consortium working on the upgrade and expansion of a large airbase in the Middle East on a turnkey basis.

The project involved designing and building six hardened aircraft shelters to accommodate 12 modern fighter jets, along with associated installations.

The project included many structures, which including engine and avionics workshops, munitions storage, control tower, vehicle and equipment maintenance facility, accommodation and cafeterias, recreational and sports facilities, small stadium and all associated infrastructure and roadwork.
