The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the UAE’s most significant architectural and cultural achievements, renowned for its monumental scale, intricate craftsmanship and distinctive Islamic architecture.
Arabian Construction Company (ACC) was appointed by the Public Works Department, Abu Dhabi, to deliver five contracts under Phase II, encompassing full turnkey interior and exterior finishing works.
The mosque features 82 domes, four minarets and an expansive Sahan (courtyard), with capacity to accommodate more than 40,000 worshippers. ACC’s scope, covering a built-up area exceeding 22,000 m², required exceptional technical precision, specialist craftsmanship and meticulous coordination across complex architectural finishes.
The works involved the integration of intricate decorative elements, architectural detailing and high-quality finishes, demanding rigorous quality control to preserve the integrity of the mosque’s design and cultural significance.
Completed in 2010, ACC’s finishing works represent one of the company’s most prestigious specialist construction achievements, demonstrating its ability to execute technically demanding architectural projects where precision, craftsmanship and engineering expertise are paramount.
Today, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque stands as an enduring expression of the UAE’s cultural heritage and architectural ambition, reflecting ACC’s contribution to the delivery of one of the nation’s most celebrated buildings.
