The Project comprises the detailed design, procurement and construction of Civil & Structural works of Reverse Osmosis Extension Plant facilities on unused land that forms part of the existing F1 Plant. The scope also covers laying the GRP pipeline, including steel supports installation.

Al Mirfa Desalination Plant

It is comprised of three MSF distillers, each with a capacity of 7.5MIGD. The steam is provided by two boilers. The scope of works of the project also included a 650m cable tunnel, a 2.5km long x 2.8m diameter discharge pipe, 65m diameter steel tanks, a seawater intake structure and an outfall structure.

Shuweihat S1 Independent Power and Desalination Plant

The plant consists of five Siemens v94.3A gas turbines, two 251 MW steam turbines, seven electrical generators and all the ancillary systems. It is linked to a seawater desalination facility which is supplied with steam from the turbines.

This project was an Independent Water and Power Project commissioned on a Build Operate transfer (BOT) basis.

Taweelah A2 Desalination Plant

Complementing the Taweelah A2 Power Plant, the desalination plant was awarded as a BOT contract and executed on a fast track basis.

Water production is achieved from four MSF distillers, each weighing 3,500 tons and measuring 90m long by 30m wide, fired by waste heat from the gas and steam turbines. Each distiller has a capacity of 12.5MIGD.

The scope of work included civil works for the four MSF distillers, a switchgear building (for desalination and remineralization plants), a chlorination building, 4 large potable water storage tanks, a potable water pump house, a 1.1 Km discharge culvert and other related structures.

Taweelah B Extension 23MIGD

ACC completed the civil and structural steel works for the extension to the desalination plant, adding 23 MIGD to the complex.

The plant is comprised of three MSF distillers, each with a capacity of 7.7 MIGD.

Umm al Nar Desalination Plant

The plant is able to produce 62.5 MIGD and was built on a fast track basis (out of a total of 65,000m3 of concrete, 50,000m3 was poured in less than five months). Output is achieved through five evaporators (12.5 MIGD each) with five attendant boilers.

The project consisted of five distillers (each measuring 90m long by 30m wide and weighing 3,500 tons), five low pressure boilers, four 75m diameter water tanks, a 1.1km discharge culvert, an outlet structure, 5km roadworks, a remineralisation plant, a potable water pump station and other plant structures (31 structures in total).

Fujairah F1 Independent Water and Power Plant

It is one of the largest operating plants in the world with a power capacity of 893 MW and a seawater desalination capacity of 100 million imperial gallons or 455,000 cubic metres per day.

Completed in 2003, ACC were subcontracted by Doosan Heavy Industries for the civil works and steel structure on this IWPP.
